Worship
- Evangelism - Learning - Loving |
MCC Knoxville believes in the priesthood
of all of its members. The Pastors role is to help equip others for ministry, not to
be the sole minister. To this end we are working to help every member be a
minister. Members and friends are being encouraged to discover their spiritual gifts
and their skills and talents, and their God given passions. In the meeting of our
gifts and passions with the needs of the Church, the community and the world it is our
hope persons will hear where God is calling them to serve. Where three or more
persons feel the same call they will be encouraged to start a ministry group. The
ministry groups will be administered by one of the four following teams.
Worship
The Worship team will be coordinating
the groups that are responsible for leading and planning of worship experiences, for
developing new worship experiences, for the music and choir ministries. This team
might include the following ministry groups: choir, musicians, morning and evening
planning groups, drama group, and a special celebration group.
Evangelism (Outreach)
This team is responsible for ministry
groups that are reaching out in the larger community and the world to share the Good News
of Jesus Christ in word and deed. Possible groups might include housing and food
ministries, peace ministry, bar ministries, self-help groups, justice ministries, and
support groups.
Learning
The learning team will coordinate the
ministries doing education. We want to present an educational ministry that is
helping persons to grow in faith and discipleship with different offerings for different
ages and stages of growth. Ministry groups under this team would include retreat
ministry, membership classes, leadership training, deacon and discipleship training, Bible
Study, youth and children education and event ministry.
Love
The love team will be assisting ministry
groups to care for members, friends, and visitors. Ministry groups in the team might
include, greeting, visitor contact, hospitality and parties, prayer groups for men, women,
and intercession, hospital and home visits, peer counseling, and card ministry.
These groups will be the welcome and embrace of God in and through MCC. |
