Air Conditioning and Heating Replacement
Ongoing
Replacement of the original HVAC system in our main building is now complete. MCCK now has two new high efficiency outdoor air conditioning units, indoor air handlers, and furnaces which are expected to serve us well for years to come. It's amazing what can be done in just over a week's time.
The total cost of the replacement was $9,558.39. As of Tuesday, August 31st, pledges of $8,330 (87% of the cost) have been made. Total donations of $7,830 (82% of the cost) have been received. An additional $1728 (or $1,228 in pledges) will completely pay off the project. If you have not yet made a contribution, you can contact Dusty in the office (865-531-2539 or office @ mccknoxville.org) to make a pledge. You can place your donation (marked "AC Fund") in Sunday's offering plate.
Thank you to all who have contributed to this much needed project. We are well on our way to fully covering this unplanned expense. It is inspiring to see that when the members and friends of MCCK see a need they come through in a big way.
Stewardship Campaign
Ongoing through Wednesday, September 8, 2010
The Administrative Council is sponsoring a Stewardship Campaign for Time, Talent, and Financial contributions. This will aid in planning our 2011 budget which is expected to include a significant increase due to the new full-time pastor position. This will also let us know other ways you are able to help MCCK and which church programs you are most interested in.
Everyone is encouraged to fill out a pledge form and return it by Wednesday, September 8th to the church office or place it in the offering plate. Your cooperation in this effort is appreciated.
If you have not received a pledge form, you may download a copy here (requires Adobe Reader).

The Friday Night Social Club meets in the church on the 4th Friday of each month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Join us for an evening of gentle fellowship and fun! Coffee, soft drinks, and snacks will be available. This is an evening to build new friendships, to spend time with friends old and new and to build a Christ-Community together. We hope you will consider joining us!
Help will be needed for setup and clean up. Contact Lois & Vicki with questions or to volunteer to help.
Our semi-annual Congregational Meeting will be held on Sunday, September 26th during the Potluck Lunch and will begin after all have been served.
We will vote on calling the Pastoral Candidate to serve MCCK.
We will be voting to elect two members to the Administrative Council. These are the three-year Lay Delegate positions currently held by Roy C. and Dustin E. They are allowed to run for re-election. Nominations for candidates will be taken from the floor. Persons seeking positions on the council must be Members-in-Good-Standing for at least 6 months and not be related to another council member. Employees of the church and clergy candidates cannot serve on the council.
The Administrative Council will present the 2011 Budget for your review, amendment, and approval.
All MCCK members are expected to attend and be a part of the decision making process. Note that only active members may vote. An active member is one who has completed the membership class, signed the membership form, and been inducted into membership in a worship service. Inactive and former members are welcome to attend but are not eligible to vote.
